[edit]- 1 Bosten Lake (博斯腾湖) (57 km away from Korla). . One of the biggest freshwater lakes in China. Possible to swim. Trip with Longxin Youth Hostel cost ¥600 for a 6-person van (possible to negotiate).
- 2 Swan River (天鹅河) (in the southern urban area). The Swan River Scenic Area is 10 km long, covering an area of 2,400 mu, with a water area of 765 mu. As a water link connecting the Peacock River and the Rhododendron River, the scenic area is composed of 20 bridges, 10 islands and 12 docks as its main framework, and features cultural landscapes such as Cen Shen sculptures and Ban Chao sculptures. Every winter, it attracts hundreds of wild animals such as swans and wild ducks to settle down. Hanoi has the largest musical fountain in southern Xinjiang.
- 3 Lop Nor Village (罗布人村寨风景名胜区), Within the territory of Dunkuotan Township, Yuli County, Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture. [edit]- 1 Korla - Longxing Youth Hostel (库尔勒 － 龙行青年旅社), Xinhua Road (500 m from railway station) (新疆库尔勒市新华路 （火车站 500米）处） (Follow the street in front of the railway station for 500 m, The hostel is on the south-east side of the street (left when walking from railway station). A taxi ride should be the minimum fare ¥5. Buses 101, 26, 29, and 20 stop on the other side of the street, bus stop name: 益民小区（大峡谷) "yi min xiaoqu", ¥1.), ☏ +86 996-2112366, +86 13899065488 (cellphone). Check-out: 12:00. The hostel is on the 4th floor a building 500 m from the Korla railway station along the main street that starts in front of the railway station. The shared bathrooms are awful and most are broken. It's ¥40 for a bed in a 4-bed dorm. It's still a good option for backpackers traveling alone. The owner is very nice and likes to take tenants for tours, unfortunately no English spoken. ¥40 for 4-bed dorm.
