Llantwit Major (Welsh: Llanilltud Fawr) is a town in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The small village of St Athan is known primarily for the RAF base.

Peaceful village Gileston is an ideal base from which to explore the Vale and the Glamorgan Jurassic coast. It is 4 miles away from Llantwit Major.

On the B4265 between Barry and Bridgend.

The tiny village of Gileston in the Vale of Glamorgan is within walking distance of Limpert Bay, Breaksea Point and the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. In 1970 the village was designated as a conservation area in recognition of its unspoilt historic charm. It is one of few villages with a red telephone box. 15th century St Giles Church has a lovely churchyard where the Giles family, after whom the village was named, is buried. The church warden will open the doors for visitors to look around.
