Lombard is a suburb of Chicago in Illinois and is considered part of Chicagoland. Lombard is a small town with a tight-knit community built around it's high schools and the downtown Lombard culture. Residents of Lombard are very friendly and familial and willing to guide tourists to various locations in Chicago and Chicagoland.

[edit]By public transportation
[edit]The Metra West Line stops at the Lombard train station in downtown Lombard. If coming from the city, the West Line departs from the Ogilvie Transportation Center. If you are not in the area of The Center, take the outbound green line "L" train to the Harlem station (the end of the line). The Metra train stops on the same platform.
By car
[edit]From Chicago: Get on I-290 West and continue when it merges onto I-88. Exit at Highland Ave. (at Yorktown Mall). If you want to avoid tolls, head west on Roosevelt Rd./IL-Rt. 38. Lombard begins shortly after the I-294 junction.
From Indiana: Head west on 80/94. Merge onto I-294 N towards Chicago, then exit at Roosevelt Rd. and head west.
From the south: Head north on I-355 and exit at Roosevelt Rd., then turn east.
From the north: Head SE in I-90/I-290/IL-Rt. 53. Merge onto I-355 South. Exit at Roosevelt Road and turn east.
From the west: Head east on I-88 and exit at Highland Ave. If you want to avoid tolls, head east on IL-Rt. 38 or IL-Rt. 56.
Get around
[edit]There is a local bus service which travels throughout the suburbs and the city of Chicago known as the Pace System [1]. Your best bet to understanding Pace is talking to someone who is familiar with it, as it is considered by most to be confusing and overpriced. The best mode of transportation is by car. Taxi services are available by phone call.

[edit]- 1 Lilacia Park, 150 South Park Avenue (one block south from the Metra station), ☏ +1 630 627-1281. It is a large botanical park which specializes in tulips and lilacs. There is a large amount of shade with benches, picnic areas and some open grass areas.

[edit]- Lilac Festival: . A 16-day festival in early May. It begins with the coronation of the Lilac Queen. Various events take place throughout the city during the festival and it culminates in the Lilac Parade, an event which a majority of the town and surrounding towns attend. (date needs fixing)
