Lydford is a village in Dartmoor, the English county of Devon. The village sits within Dartmoor National Park.

[edit]Lydford was a Saxon town protected in the 13th century by a castle tower. It is known for the 1.5 mi (2.4 km) wooded gorge cut by the River Lyd through slate.

[edit]- Walk down into 1 Lydford Gorge, EX20 4BH. the deepest river gorge in south west England with the 30 m (98 ft) White Lady Waterfall.
Walk up these tors on the other side of the A386 north of the Army Rifle Ranges:
- 2 Arms Tor, EX20 4HF. 457 m (1,499 ft) high
- 3 Brat Tor, EX20 4AZ. 452 m (1,483 ft) high with Widgery Cross.
