The Iberians created the first settlements in Móra d'Ebre. The Arabs left a strong mark on local life: agricultural exploitations, the milling industry, pottery crafts and a castle, which was part of the defensive line of the Ebro. The reconquest of this took place in 1153 by the Count of Barcelona Ramon Berenguer IV.
