    Móstoles is a city in the Community of Madrid and it is the second largest in the region. Móstoles hosts the CA2M the museum with the contemporary art collection of the Community of Madrid. Historically is also known by the participation of the mayors of the town in the declaration of war against the invasion following the Dos de Mayo Uprasing in 1808.

    The city is within the metropolitan area of Madrid, with an importan character of a commuter town, since it evolved from being a village in the last third of the 20th century of barely 4,000 inhabitants to one of the largest urban concentrations in the region. It has been gradually loosing its commuter town role thanks to the establishment of institutions such as the Rey Juan Carlos University, the IMDEA Energy research centre and the Dos de Mayo Art Centre (CA2M).

    The C-5 line of the Cercanías Madrid commuter rail network connects Móstoles directly with Alcorcón, Madrid, Leganés, Fuenlabrada and Humanes de Madrid. A trip from Madrid-Atocha station typically takes less than 30 minutes.

    Main bus routes from the multimodal Madrid Príncipe Pío station are: 521, 522, 524 and the night services N501 & N503.

    Main highways that pass through Móstoles are Autovía A-5, the orbital motorway M-50, the radial motorway R-5 (tolled) and the regional road M-506.

    The circle Line 12, also known as MetroSur links Móstoles with other suburban towns Alcorcón, Leganés, Getafe and Fuenlabrada.

    There are two train stations:

    The tourist office is located at the Pradillo square (Plaza del Pradillo) where you will find a wide range of information on maps, routes and the most iconic places to visit in the municipality.

    • 1 CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo. This museum hosts the contemporary art collection of the Community of Madrid. The modern building was inaugurated in 2008 following a thorough refurbishment of the historical building that preserved the façade of a 19th-century building. It includes exhibition halls, a library, a roof terrace, an assembly hall and other spaces designed to host a wide range of activities, from film screenings to an urban horticultural garden workshop.     • City Museum (Museo de la Ciudad). Located in one of the most unique historic buildings in Móstoles, a former Post house, the museum has been set up as a space in which to discover the city's history. Inside there is a scale model of the town from 1808. The museum also organises guided tours.
    • Historic-House museum of Andrés Torrejón. An old house that has been converted into a house-museum around the figure of Andrés Torrejón, where you can discover the customs and habits of a home at the beginning of the 19th century.
    • 2 Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Santos (Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Santos), San Antonio street s/n, 28931. The hermitage was built in the 17th century on an old Rojas house. It was rebuilt under the orders of Cristóbal Rodríguez de Jarama , between 1680 and 1688.
