[edit]Malalane town was planned in the form of a wagon wheel and the town was established on 6 July 1949.
Malalane means “the place of small lala palms". King Mswati’s Emlalani regiment was named after where the town now stands.
The farms in the region produce sugarcane, subtropical fruit and winter vegetables.

[edit]Use the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
By car
[edit]Take the N4 highway east from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Have cash at hand for the toll gates. Pass through Mbombela. Malalane is 70 km past Mbombela on the N4.
Travel around Malalane by car and get an eyeful of the beautiful scenery and meandering mountain passes. The Malalane Gate entrance to the Kruger Park is 6 km past Malalane.
By train
[edit]Spoornet operates regular trains west to Johannesburg via Middelburg, Witbank and Pretoria, and east to Komatipoort on the border with Mozambique. From Komatipoort you can take a Mozambiquan train east to Maputo.

- Leopard Creek Country Club: near Malelane in the heart of Mpumalanga, on the southern border of the Kruger National Park. The 360-hectare development is bordered to the north and the west by the picturesque Crocodile River and the Kruger National Park. Leopard Creek is primarily reserved for the use of members and guests; they do however allow limited booking through selected lodges in the area.
- Malalane Golf Club: Malalane Golf club is a jewel in the Mpumalanga Lowveld. This beautiful 9-hole course in the picturesque Onderberg loses a real challenge to every golfer.

[edit]Take the N4 to Mozambique, even if it's only for sightseeing (passport needed). You can enter Krugerpark at the Malalane Gate. Go towards the south and visit Eswatini/Swaziland (passport needed).
