by bus and light rail
[edit]Light Rail lines U70 and U76 connect Krefeld and Düsseldorf via the so-called K-Bahn that crosses Meerbusch. The trams run at high speed on tracks separated from car traffic, with U70 being a peak hour service skipping some stops, so check beforehand to avoid missing your stop. There is no stop at Meerbusch-Osterath rail station, the closest being Hoterheide stop, approximately 1km away.
2 Haus Meer is location of a large Park-and-Ride parking lot where commuters leave their cars or arrive on connecting buses to transfer to Stadtbahn trains into Düsseldorf.

[edit]- 1 Meerhof (Haus Meer). The city's name comes from a huge woodland called "Meerer Busch", owned by the monastery Prämonstratenserinnenkloster Meer. The rest of the monastery can be visited in the "Meerhof" or so called "Haus Meer".
