Understand
[edit]Moneglia is on the coast, about an hour's drive (roughly 55 km) southeast (down the coast) from Genoa and about an hour's drive (about 32 km) northwest of the limits of Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre.
Get in
[edit]By plane
[edit]The nearest airport is at Genoa, which is well served by budget airlines, including Ryanair. For travelers taking more traditional airlines, the nearest major airport is Milan Malpensa. Milan is approximately three hours from Moneglia by direct train, four with a change in Genoa.
By train
[edit]The best way to get to Moneglia or nearby towns is by train - the high mountains make car routes far longer and more inconvenient than train journeys. There is regular service to Genoa by both slow and fast trains; the slow train runs between Genoa and La Spezia, with stops in such popular tourist destinations as Sestri Levante and the towns of the Cinque Terre. Changes to other major cities can be found in Genoa as well as in Sestri Levante.
