Monterey is a small town in the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

[edit]Take Exit 2 off Interstate 90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) in Lee. Follow Route 102 west for 4.7 miles to Stockbridge. Turn left and follow Route 7 south for 6.1 miles to Great Barrington. Turn left and follow Route 23 east for 5.3 miles to Monterey.

Thirty-five acre pristine Benedict Pond provides swimming, boating and fishing. Home of diverse wildlife including deer, bobcats, fishers and, of course, the park's namesake, the Black Bear. There are brooks, beaver ponds, and rich deciduous forest perfect for fall foliage viewing. The Appalachian Trail passes near Benedict Pond offering spectacular views. Parking fees May 24-Sept 8ː MA residents $8, non-residents $30.
