    Mstsislaw (Mstsislavl, Polish: Mścislaw) is a town in Mogilev Oblast, Belarus. In the late Middle Ages it was a center of a principality. The city is on the banks of the Sosch River just a few kilometers from the border with Russia.

    It is the capital of a rayon in the Mahiljou Oblast. In the Middle Ages it was the center of a principality. It belonged to Poland-Lithuania until the First Partition of Poland in 1772 and then came to tsarist Russia.
