[edit]The Las Lajas Sanctuary near Ipiales is famous, receiving thousands of pilgrims daily. Also worth visiting are Laguna de la Cocha, La Corota Island, the Cumbal snow-capped mountain and lagoon, the Nudo de los Pastos mountain range, the hot springs of Ipiales and La Cruz, Tumaco Island and its beautiful beaches of El Morro, Mulatos, La Ensenada, and Bocagrande, Sanquianga National Natural Park, the Galeras and La Corota Island Flora and Fauna Sanctuaries, and 47 natural reserve areas in the municipalities of Barbacoas, Chachaguí, Ricaurte, Pasto, and Yacuanquer.
In the municipality of Sandoná is one of the most beautiful churches in the country, whose walls are made of stone and whose style is neo-Gothic.
There is also the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Beach, located in the municipality of San Pablo Nariño, on the banks of the Mayo River.

The Black and White Carnival is celebrated annually during the first week of January, and the Fire Carnival takes place during the second week of February in Tumaco and the municipalities along the Nariño Pacific coast.
