Ngaoundéré is the capital of Adamaoua region.
Get in
[edit]Ngaoundéré has its own airport but there are no scheduled services. Nearest airport is in Garoua, a four hour bus drive to the north. Several overland options are available, both buses and private taxis travel from Douala, the capital Yaoundé and other nearby cities, however expect a slow ride.
The railways in Cameroon has its northern terminus here. Camrail runs a daily overnight train from Yaoundé, the train has both seats and couchettes. Additionally, a much slower service runs three times per week, calling in more remote stations.

Connect
[edit]2G / 3G / 4G cellular network coverage can be found in most parts of Ngaoundéré . Signal strength can drop further from the city center and occasional network outages can occur at all or some mobile operators in remote areas of the city. Different networks tend to be more stable and reliable in different parts of the city at different times. Therefore, it is highly recommended that tourists travel using two or more cellular networks. This can cause one to fail if the other fails. MTN, 9Mobile, Airtel (Zain) and GLO are all available service providers. So if you are planning a visit to Adamawa State, as you would do for many other places in Nigeria, you should probably consider having multiple SIM cards, preferably for all the mobile service providers, since you can`t tell which will be more stable and reliable at a time in your location during your visit. And if you will risk not having any of them, you might be better off not risking the MTN network, because, from indications, it seems to perform well than the others, though its rates may be high and its offers and services might be stringent, you are less likely to be concerned of erratic voice and data connection compared to others.
