    North Gujarat is part of the state of Gujarat in western India. Much travel into the region comes via the state's largest city, Ahmedabad, which is just to the south.

    • 1 Gandhinagar — administrative capital of Gujarat, city of Akshardham Temple and the second planned Green City
    • 2 Ambaji — a town noted for its history and mythology. Famous for its marble and granite mines
    • 3 Himatnagar — a city noted for its ceramic industry. Himatnagar has many beautiful temples, the Maharaja Himmat Singh Fort and holds a wide range of festivals during the year
    • 4 Idar — located on the Idar hills, Idar is known for its temples and beautiful architectural monuments
    • 5 Kadi — on the edge of the Thol Lake Sanctuary, a beautiful bird sanctuary that attracts migratory birds in winter including pintails, flamingos, cranes, pelicans, mallards, and geese.
    • 6 Khedbrahma — a city in Sabarkantha district.
    • 7 Mahudi — a pilgrimage centre of Jains and other communities visiting tge temple of Jain deity, Ghantakarna Mahavir, and Padmaprabhu Jain Temple
    • 8 Mehsana — a city in the Mahesana District
    • 9 Modhera — home to a millennia-old Sun Temple
    • 10 Nadabet — a village that has been developed into a tourist destination focusing on the history of the border and the Border Security Force
    • 11 Palanpur — a once heavily fortified town with several temples dedicated to Hinduism and Jainism. The royal city of Nawabs.
    • 12 Patan — ancient fortified town.
    • 13 Siddhpur — a religiously important town for Hindus with many temples and ashrams
    • 14 Taranga — has 11-12th century Jain temples, some Buddhist archaeological remains and temples of interest, and trekking opportunities
    • 15 Vadnagar — an ancient historical town.

    Sabarkantha district

    • The Roda Group of Temples, 18 km from Himatnagar, are seven Hindu temples built during the 8th and 9th centuries. Considered as the fountainhead of all classical temples of Gujarat.
    • Juna Bhavnath Temple, near Idar, is a 1300-year-old temple. It has a reservoir, kund, named Bhrigukund which believed to cure leprosy if bathed in its water. There is a temple dedicated to Shiva and temple dedicated to the son of Bhrigu, Avan Rishi.
    • Polo Group of Monuments and the Vijaynagar Forest, near Abhapur village east of Khedbrahma, had several ruined ancient Hindu and Jain temples which are more than 500 years old.
    • Sapteshwar Mahadev temple, Mehsana district, is a place of natural beauty. The kund and a temple housing seven linga of Shiva is ancient and associated with lores of Saptarishis.
    • Mahakali temple in Sampad village nearMahudi, was constructed by king of erstwhile Idar state in 15th century for the fulfillment of wish of child.
    • Mini Pavagadh in Vaktapur village near Himatnagar is a 300-year-old temple dedicated to Mahakali that is popular in pilgrims. Fairs are organised on Janmashtami and Mahashivaratri.
    • Tomb of Sikandarshah, Prantij near Mahudi. A mausoleum built by Gujarat Sultan Mahmud Begada in honour of his soldier Sikandar Shah in c. 1480.
