    Numan is a city in Adamawa State in North East Nigeria.

    Numan, also known as Nomwe (meaning "hill"), is a city and municipality in the state of Adamawa, Nigeria. It is a port city at the confluence of the Benue and Gongora rivers. The main ethnic group in the city of is Bwatier (Bachama), which has a reputation for being an undefeated warrior throughout history. Bwatier is headed by a prestigious king known as Hamabachama, the Supreme Leader of the Kingdom of Bachama. His Voti (palace) is in Numan, the royal palace, and Ramurde has another palace for the king, the spiritual or ancestral home of the Bwatier people. The name of the current king is Dr. Omun. Daniel Ismaila Shaga OON, who took the throne in 2020. The Queen of the Kingdom of Bachama is called Mbamto (Queen) and she is Mbam Trozalin Daniel Luis Mairashaga. They have four children whose names are not known.

    This city is the site of Adamawa State Institute of Technology.

    Adamawa State Polytechnic Adamawa State Institute of Technology is a higher education institution located in Yola, Adamawa, Nigeria. It was established in 1991 by the merger of the Yora Preparatory Faculty and the Numan Staff Development Institute. The new Polytechnic offers a national diploma program in computer science, statistics, accounting, business administration and secretarial training.
