East of the town there are four historical sites related to mining, which together make up the world heritage site Krzemionki prehistoric striped flint mining region:

• 50.96797221.5023062 Krzemionki Opatowskie Mining Field. 09:00-16:00 (10:00-16:00 on Tuesdays), closed Mondays. Booking is essential. Tours are in Polish but you can download the audio-guide to your phone (corded headphones are provided). The tour starts in the museum, then proceeds underground.
