[edit]Climate
[edit]The climate is semi-arid in the east, which becomes humid in the forested area, with rainfall mostly concentrated in winter.
Annual rainfall totals about 1000 mm in the forest zone and less than 600 mm in the steppe zone. Temperatures are cool in the summer and very cold in the winter.
Visitor information
[edit]Get in
[edit]The park is only open between October to April.
Unlike some of Chile's national parks, road X-753 connects Lago Jeinimeni to the nearby border city of Chile Chico (de) about 60 km away (should take about 75–90 minutes). Most of the road is not paved, and the road simply becomes a track west parallel to Lago Jeinimeni before terminating a few hundred metres east of Lago Verde.
Road X-83 also connects the town of Cochrane to the southern ends of the park eventually to the Argentine border, but this road does not connect with X-753.
Fees and permits
[edit]The park is only open between 08:30 and 17:30.
