Pateros is a town, the lone municipality in Metro Manila, known for its balut and duck eggs.

Pateros gets is name from Spanish patero, or duck raiser; the town historically relied on duck raising as a major source of income.

The town is densely populated, with 63,000 people sandwiched in 1.76 km2 (0.68 sq mi) of land. It is surrounded by Makati and Taguig. Pateros also holds a claim on the disputed Fort Bonifacio area.

Pateros is accessible by Jeepneys. The terminal near the town's boundary with Pasig serves jeepneys bound for Starmall EDSA in Mandaluyong, Marikina, Bagumbayan in Taguig and Ugong in Pasig. The terminal in the town proper serves jeepneys bound for Guadalupe in Makati.
