Pedernales is a city and province in Southern Dominican Republic.

Pedernales is a small, sleepy town on the very south-western extreme of the country, nearly bordering Haiti. It is where most people base themselves if intending to visit the magnificent Bahia de las Aguilas. It is easily walkable, and has a nice local beach.

Buses from Barahona are approximately 350 pesos (2026), however it can be hard to catch them if leaving late in the day.

The Parque Central has many small eateries surrounding it that open at night to serve those coming back after a day at the beach.
