Phobjikha is a valley in Wangdue Phodrang, Bhutan.

The valley is surrounded by stunning natural beauty, including expansive landscapes, verdant forests, and picturesque views of the Himalayas. It is a vast valley at an elevation of about 3,000 m (9,800 ft) on the west side by the Black Mountains (Bhutan) (range above 5,000 m (16,000 ft) elevation) that separates western and central Bhutan.

The average temperature is 8 °C (46 °F). The warmest month is July with 15 °C (59 °F) and the coldest is January with 0 °C (32 °F). The summers are wet with most rain falling between June and August during the monsoon season. The mean minimum temperature recorded in December is −4.8 °C (23.4 °F). The mean maximum temperature recorded in August is 19.9 °C (67.8 °F). The rainfall incidence varies from 1,472–2,189 mm (58.0–86.2 in).

  • Black-neck crane Festival. An annual festival is held in November to celebrate the return of the birds from their summer nesting grounds in Tibet. There is a US$50 attendance fee, which is used to fund local community projects. (Warning: due the black-neck crane's endangered species status and also because of the special position it holds in Bhutanese folk law, deliberately injuring a bird is a crime punishable by life imprisonment.)
  • Phobjikha Valley trek is popular and takes three days to complete
