Pleumeur-Bodou is a small commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department on the north coast of Brittany. It sits in the middle of the Pink Granite coast, which is well known for its spectacular scenery. It lies between Brest and Saint-Brieuc, in the immediate vicinity of Lannion and Perros-Guirec. The Pink Granite Coast is unique because of its pink-tinted rocks with astonishing shapes: its coastal paths, beaches and preserved natural sites are among the most beautiful in France.
Understand
[edit]In 2021, it was home to 3,800 people.
It has more than 17 km of seafront dotted with three coastal villages: L'Île Grande, the Landrellec peninsula, and Kérénoc. Its coast is dotted with islets and picturesque little ports, but also beaches, coves and protected natural areas, accessible by numerous paths for pedestrians, horse riders or mountain bikers. Due to the tides, which are very pronounced in this region, the landscapes vary according to the time of day, with the sea uncovering and then covering a good part of the coastline each day.
