There is a bus from Matera (1 hr, €4), and a train from Sibari (1 hr, €3.50). From the railway station, it is 1 km to the beach.

There are ruins in Policoro and a museum.

• National Museum of Siritide Information on the Greek settlement of Heraclea, the ruins of which are just outside the town and can be visited for a small fee.
