
Ramanagara is a town near Bangalore, in a valley surrounded by rocky hillocks. It has an average elevation of 747 metres (2450 feet). The present town has an Agrahara on the left bank of the Arkavati with a temple of Arkeshwara built in later Vijayanagara style.

- 2 Ramadevarabetta Vulture Sanctuary. A bird sanctuary atop a hill. It is India's only vulture sanctuary with three vulture species: long-billed, Egyptian and white-backed vultures.
