    Ramsey is a small market town in Cambridgeshire. Ramsey is an historic fenland town with an abbey founded in 969. It's a quiet place where you can experience rural England but has enough life and facilities to enable you to stay there. It makes a good base to explore the surrounding area.

    Ramsey is not a major tourist destination so would suit those wanting to get off the beaten track.

    Get in

    Buses run every hour or two from Huntingdon to the centre of Ramsey.

    The surrounding countryside is ideal for cycling with little traffic and no hills. As such, it is practical to get to Ramsey by bike.

    Each August there is a major 1940s weekend at nearby (20 minutes' walk) Upwood airbase.

    Ramsey is small enough for you to be able to see everything in a day trip from a nearby city.

    1 Shire Lodge, Warboys Rd, Bury (It's a 15-minute walk away along a pretty footpath). Bed and Breakfast for around £40.
