Recaș Voyage Tips and guide

Recaș is a town in Timiș County, Banat, Romania. Located on sunny hills, with a temperate continental climate, Recaş is the ideal place for viticulture. The town is famous for its rich production of wine.

The first record of the settlement comes from the medieval chronicles in 1359 mentioned as Rykas. Over time, Recaș was first a feudal domain, fortress and fair. Also Recaş was administered by the Turkish, Austrian, Hungarian and Romanian states. From 1784 to 1786, as part of the colonization of the Banat, German colonists began to establish in Recaș.

Recaș is 21 km from Timisoara and 37 km from Lugoj, on the national road DN6 (European E70). The city has access to Timisoara airport, located 20 km away.

• House of Culture Ion Cojar (Casa de Cultura Ion Cojar), Recas. Includes a hall with a capacity of 400 seats, exhibition space, conference room and town library that offers its readers about 15,000 volumes in Romanian, German, Hungarian, Serbian, French and English. 
• Museum of History (Muzeul de Istorie), Recas. Founded in September 1987, as a permanent exhibition, was reorganized and reopened in 2002. It has the following sections: History, Ethnography, Art and Sport
