    Ribérac is a city in Dordogne.

    The closest international airports are Bergerac and Angouleme, both less than an hour away. Bordeaux is about 1.5 hours away, and of course Ribérac has its own local airport shared with Ribérac Saint-Aulaye (Code LFIK).

    Get around

    Ribérac is small, you can walk. Though the Café de Palais offers bikes for hire in the main square of the town.

    See the market on a Friday, it's one of the largest in the area and truly fantastic.

    The town is renowned for Fois Gras, come in the winter months to the duck market to buy your raw Fois Gras and Truffles! At other times of the year, there are several butchers who sell Fois Gras ready prepared.

    Eat

    There are several good restaurants in the centre of town:

    • Le Commensal - inventive French cuisine
    • Le Citronnier - specializes in fish and fine dinning
    • La commerce
    • * Le Petit Thai - Fantastic Thai food, a bit pricey for what you get.
    • La Vietnam, only just changed hands, great Chinese food. lol!! Vietnamese food
    • Auberge du Pauly - A little out of town, but great crepes with every topping you can imagine, in a perfectly peaceful part of the countryside.
    • Le Chevillard
    • l'Epi Grill - Hors d'oeuvres buffet, main courses from menu, dessert buffet - good value, ideal for families with children

    Drink

    There are several cafes in the centre of town, including:

    • Le Café des Colonnes - a classic french market square cafe, often has live music on Tuesday evenings
    • Le Café du Palais - a favourite with market-goers on a Friday morning

    Sleep

    The Hotel De France has sadly closed, which leaves few options in the centre of town. There is a 'Rev Hotel' on the outskirts of the town towards Périgueux, and opposite l'Epi Grill.
