Roßdorf is a village in Hesse, one of the states of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Roßdorf has about 13,000 inhabitants. It's 9 km south of Darmstadt and 44 km south of Frankfurt, at the foot of the Roßberg, an extinct volcano, and marks the northern gateway to the Odenwald mountains. It is well known for its long tradition of fruit growing and viticulture.

Several buses run from Darmstadt Main Station to Roßdorf. The ride takes about 15 minutes.

• old city hall (Historisches Rathaus), Erbacher Straße 3. established in 1575 in the Frankish framework style. 

• The old railroad station. From 1897 to 1982, it was the station for the railroad line from Darmstadt/East - large rooms. Since 1988 it has housed the South Hessian handicraft museum and gallery.

Roßdorf is famous for its 'Apfelwein' (apple wine) and local wines. You can find several traditional 'Straußwirtschaften' (seasonal wine taverns) in the town, especially during the summer months.
