    São Lourenço is in Southern Minas Gerais. São Lourenço has established itself as one of the most important hydromineral resorts in Brazil.

    Tourism is the main economic activity and guarantees the high spirits on weekends, when bus caravans arrive from all over the country, mainly from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

    In 2020, it had a population of 46,000 people.

    A city with a mild climate, it has an average temperature of 18ºC. In winter, temperatures reach 0ºC, and the heavy frost that hits the city is a spectacle worth seeing. With an altitude of 875 m in the city hall, it has a tropical climate of altitude, with an annual average of 18ºC, and the average in the summer of 22ºC.

    • From São Paulo - via BR-116 (Presidente Dutra) east to Cachoeira Paulista, turn toward Cruzeiro, and take the Dr. Avelino Júnior Highway/MG-158 through Passa Quatro, Itanhandu, and Pouso Alto, where you will see an exit for São Lourenço/Caxambu. Continue 11 more km.
    • From Rio de Janeiro - via BR-116 (Presidente Dutra) west past Resende to the village of Engenheiro Passos and take BR-354 north into Minas Gerais. At Pouso Alto, you will see an exit for São Lourenço/Caxambu. Continue 11 more km.
    • From Belo Horizonte - via BR-381 (Fernão Dias), turning onto BR-267 at Cambuquira. You will pass through the small towns of Lambari, Jesuânia, and then Carmo de Minas. From Carmo de Minas it is 9 km more to São Lourenço.
