    San Ignacio (Sinaloa) is a small coastal town in Sinaloa. It is one of Mexico's designated Pueblos Mágicos.

    San Ignacio was founded in 1633 by Jesuit priest, Diego González de Cueto.

    Before the arrival of the Spanish, the town was inhabited by various indigenous groups, particularly the Piaxtlas.

    There is no first-class bus service to San Ignacio. Your best bet is to take a taxi. From Mazatlan, the 65 km journey will cost about M$1000 and the trip will take about 2 hours.

    The downtown area is compact and easily walkable, but the town is remote and getting anywhere will require a taxi ride. Have your hotel concierge call a secure taxi, or you can find taxis waiting near the Parque San Ignacio.
