San Mateo is a town in Rizal, Philippines. It is considered the gateway to the northern part of the province.

San Mateo is 24 km away from Manila and 11 km away from Antipolo. It is accessible via J.P. Rizal from Marikina and Batasan-San Mateo Road in Quezon City. San Mateo and Rodriguez are accessible to the rest of Rizal via Marikina.

Jeepneys and UVs pass by the town via Gen. Luna Ave. and Mabini Ave.

There is a couple of jeepney terminals in Silangan that are bound for Cubao, passing through Fortune in Marikina. The route of those terminals have some passages different from each other.

Places along the main roads are accessible by jeepneys. Places within villages are accessible by tricycles served in their designated places and cars. Pintong Bukawe, the town's easternmost barangay, is only accessible by passing through Cabading in Antipolo.
