Rhe airport’s route network covers major provincial capitals and key cities in China, as well as important countries and regions along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road," including Hong Kong, Russia, South Korea, Central Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. This has led to a relatively well-established flight network layout.
Ground transportation
[edit]Phoenix Airport offers public shuttle buses that operate between the T1 terminal, T2 terminal, International Terminal, and the VIP terminal.
By bus
[edit]Sanya has over sixty bus routes, operating from around 06:00 to 23:00. The ticket prices follow a distance-based fare system, ranging from ¥2 to 20. In addition, there are many privately-operated shuttle buses, and many hotels (resorts) offer free sightseeing buses to the city center and tourist attractions, making travel very convenient.
Phoenix Airport is one of the key transportation hubs in Sanya’s network. Bus routes passing through Phoenix Airport include routes 27, 29, 33, 36, 43, and 8. Additionally, there are Phoenix Airport Bus Line 1 and Phoenix Airport Bus Line 3. If you prefer not to take the airport shuttle bus, you can use any of the public bus routes, with most ticket prices around ¥3-4. Bus routes 8 and 27 take approximately 50 minutes to reach Shui Li Building.
- Bus Line 1: Heading to Dadonghai, ticket price is ¥15.

Airport scams
Arrival: Look for a taxi outside, don't follow the touts, and be sure to use the meter. If you are more than 3 people or have a lot of luggage, the tout will say you may need a van, and then he will take you to a car in a parking lot, which will actually be a broken car parked next to it, and the charge will often exceed the normal price. Also be careful of another scam, which is to pretend to be an airport staff and guide you to take a taxi with an abnormal meter installed. Departure: Don't pay attention to anyone who sells you a ticket. |
- The taxi you take should have the charging standard and charging method and the taxi driver service supervision card posted on both sides of the window.

By high-speed train (Hainan West Ring Railway)
[edit]It is not recommended to take the high-speed train to Sanya Station due to the heavy flow of passengers at the station.
Near the airport, there is the Hainan West Ring Railway (high-speed rail) Phoenix Airport Station, which can take you to Sanya Station.
By tram
[edit]The T1 tram line starts at Phoenix Airport and ends at Jiangang Road. It passes through Airport Road, Haihong Road, Sanya Bay Road, Jinjiling Road, and Shengli Road.

[edit]If you need to kill time, Phoenix Airport has a wide variety of shops.
In the international departure hall, there is a small branch of a large duty-free shop: China Duty Free Shop (Phoenix International Airport Branch). After passing security, go to the departure hall and the shop will be on your left.
There is no duty-free shop for domestic departures, only the pick-up area of the world's largest single duty-free shop - Sanya Haitang Bay Duty Free Shopping Center, which is opposite the China Southern Airlines VIP Room in the quarantine area.
You can pick up the goods at the airport after buying them here, but you must have a departing ticket to enjoy the discount, otherwise you will have to pay a 20% tax. [edit]Since Sanya Phoenix International Airport is small in size, the number of flights is very busy. Whether it is domestic flights or Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan/international flights, many people will not be able to book tickets during the holidays. It is recommended that you buy tickets one month in advance.
If you cannot book a ticket, you can try to use Haikou Meilan International Airport as a transfer.
Then transfer to the Hainan Ring Island High-speed Railway or Hainan East Ring High-speed Railway to Sanya at Meilan Station and go to Sanya Station. Then transfer to other means of transportation to the city.
There is no need to take the high-speed rail to the Phoenix Airport Station of Hainan West Ring Expressway, because Phoenix Airport Station is about 14 kilometers away from the center of Sanya, and there may be traffic jams for about an hour on the way to the city center.
In addition to Haikou Meilan International Airport, other Hainan airports can also be used, because other Hainan cities are relatively backward, and the air tickets will be cheaper.

[edit]The "Traffic Police Brigade of the Public Security Bureau of Phoenix Airport in Sanya" operates under the leadership of the Sanya Public Security Bureau. It also receives guidance, inspections, and supervision from national aviation security authorities and their local offices. The brigade is responsible for aviation security, public safety, and traffic management within the Phoenix Airport jurisdiction. It is permanently stationed at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, the Security Service Desk (T2 Terminal, F2), the Phoenix Airport Sub-Bureau of the Sanya Public Security Bureau, and the Airport Police Station of the same bureau.
Visa
[edit]Businesses in Sanya benefit from the tax incentives offered by the Hainan Special Economic Zone. Passengers and cargo transiting through Hainan are eligible for certain transportation fare discounts. Citizens of countries with diplomatic relations with China can apply for "visa on arrival" at Hainan ports with an ordinary passport. Additionally, group tourists from certain countries are granted visa-free entry for up to 15 days.
