- 3 Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. Wetland marsh and woodlands that includes 8 miles of hiking trails, two pioneer cemeteries, and a log cabin. Good birding.

[edit]- Seymour Oktoberfest. Annual festival held downtown in early October, celebrating the city's German history with a carnival, food and crafts booths, and a parade. Opening dates for the year can be found on the festival's website.

[edit]Most telephone numbers in Seymour consist of +1 812 plus a seven-digit number, but the entire 812 area is now served by an overlay complex of two area codes, with +1 930 being the second. A local or in-state telephone call now requires all 10 digits of the local number be dialed (omitting just the leading +1 from a local landline call).
Signage on many established businesses may still display the original seven-digit numbers; dial 812 before these if no area code is indicated.

[edit]- 1 Shieldstown Covered Bridge (Shields' Mill Covered Bridge), 1917 E County Rd 200 N (West of Seymour, on Route 50). Built in 1876 and named after the family-owned mill in the nearby village Shields. Crosses the East Fork White River.
