    [edit]

The local tourist association has a Japanese-only guide site with integrated Google Translate.

    Get in

    [edit]

By plane The closest airport is Tokyo-Narita, which is right on the border of the Narita-Shibayama district. Tokyo's other airport, Haneda, is located down south and is 60 kilometers away.

By train You can take a high speed train to the airport, then catch other transport or walk to Shibayama, as it is very near.

    Get around

    [edit]

The only train that runs to Shibayama is from Narita airport and is the Shibayama Tetsudo line (the shortest in Japan), operated by Shibayama Railway Co.. It runs to Shibayama-Chiyoda Station, where buses can provide extra service to the rest of the town. The maps of the buses are on this site in Japanese. The station closest to the bus is bus stop 24.

The train only operates in two stations and is Japan's shortest independent company rail line. As a result, bus is the main way to get around, but the nearest bus station is about a three minute walk.
