Get in
[edit]You can take a bus from Pune from the bus stand at Shivajinagar or the swargate bus depot. Alternatively, beginning at the railway station at Daund, take the train 13 kilometers northeast. Near the village of Shirapur, boats are available to cross the Bhima River to Siddhatek.
Get around
[edit]A bridge across the river Bheema has been constructed. One no longer needs to take a boat now to reach the temple. Vehicles can be taken right up to the temple.
See
[edit]Notable for the village is the Hindu temple of Sri Siddhi Vināyaka, the right-tusked incarnation of the elephant God Ganesha as "Masterful Remover". By legend, the temple was built on the spot where Lord Vishnu sought and received the blessing of Siddhi Vināyaka in defeating the Asuras Madhu-Kaitabh, who had been terrorizing the region. The shrine is busy during the festival of Ganesh Jayanti. During Vijayadashami and Somvati Amavasya, it is the site of festivals and plays.
