Suqian (Sùqiān 宿迁） is located in the northern part of Jiangsu Province, on the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, in the central area of Xuzhou City, Lianyungang City, and Huai'an City. It is the core city of the Xuzhou Metropolitan Area and the Jianghuai Ecological Economic Zone.

[edit]Suqian is the hometown of Xiang Yu, the King of Western Chu. It has a civilization history of more than 5,000 years and a city history of more than 2,700 years. It was once the capital of the Zhongwu Kingdom. It has a long history and rich cultural heritage. It is known as "the pulse of Chinese civilization, the root of Jiangsu civilization, and the soul of Chu-Han culture" [3]. Suqian is one of the birthplaces of wine culture and is known as the capital of Chinese liquor. The two famous liquors Yanghe and Shuanggou are produced here. Suqian is home to two large freshwater lakes, Luoma Lake and Hongze Lake. Many rivers such as the Grand Canal, the ancient Yellow River, and the Huaishu New River pass through the area. Emperor Qianlong visited the south of the Yangtze River six times and stayed here five times. He praised Suqian as "the best place in spring."

[edit]- 1 Sihong Ancient Xucheng Scenic Area, Ancient Xu City scenic spot, Southern New City, Sihong County, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province. 8AM-10PM. This is a scenic area full of historical and cultural heritage, where tourists can experience the historical features of the ancient Xu Kingdom.
- 2 The Ancestral Home of Xiang Yu, No. 288, Huanghe South Road, Sucheng District, Suqian City. Xiang Yu's hometown is a good place to learn about the history of the Chu-Han contention. The scenic area includes historical relics such as Xiang Yu Temple, Xiang Yu Statue, and ancient battlefield.
- 3 Lakeside Park. Located in the center of Suqian City, Lakeside Park is a scenic spot with natural scenery and lakes as its theme. The park has natural landscapes such as lakes and lotus ponds, as well as cultural landscapes such as the lakeside music fountain. It is a good place for citizens to take a leisure walk and ride.
