Merger

[edit]

The Andino articles have been broken down by what appears to me to be a mostly rigid adherence to the administrative division of the region, i.e. by department. The result is that there the departmental articles that have only a few city level articles in them.

    Wikivoyage:Geographical hierarchy says:

"Importantly, we only add a level of regions when there is too much content in the existing breakdown. As a result, the regional hierarchy at Wikivoyage doesn't always follow the official breakdown — and frequently is much "flatter" than the official political or administrative breakdown."

I propose to merge these three department articles into an Eastern Andino article which would make navigation easier for travellers, while continuing to indicate the departments in the larger article. Any objections? Ground Zero (talk) 22:14, 8 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Zona Cafetera is the results of merging four departments: Caldas , Quindío, Risaralda, and Tolima.

The regions map doesn't reflect these mergers. I don't have the technical skills to create a new map. Ground Zero (talk) 16:15, 13 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I suggest we replace the above banner (low-res smog view of Bogota's suburbs?) with the below. Travelwriter1000 (talk) 15:41, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

    Here's another option. It's a gorgeous part of the world. Travelwriter1000 (talk) 17:03, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, the current banner is really ugly. I prefer the 2nd alternate. The 1st is pretty but looks tilted (higher on the left). Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:01, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
    I prefer the second alternate too – who doesn't like mountains? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 22:11, 5 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
