This article has Star potential. It's well written with great information. However, for Star status it needs both to be entirely complete and to exactly match the manual of style. If you see how it can be improved, please plunge forward or point it out on the talk page. |

Notes
[edit]Here are a few notes I have if I ever have time to give this page a refresh.
- Lede - some boring wiki-facts snuck into paragraph 2. Move to understand history section
- Districts - We should go either all in or all out with Cambridge, Somerville and Brookline. IMHO the parent article (Greater Boston) covers too much ground to leave these 3 articles out of the Boston page. This arrangement goes outside political lines, but helps the traveller I think.
- History - as noted above chop to 4-5 paragraphs. Native Am, pilgrim, revolutionary, transcendental (maybe), and modern. Half short twice strong.
- Climate - fine
- Read & Watch - combine and chop to 9.
- Smoking - whatever
- Visitor info - clean up and move within understand for consistency.
- By plane - move more content to the Logan page, keep just the essentials here.
- Other airports - rm, already captured in New England, Eastern mass, etc. Or at least greatly reduce if people feel strongly.
- Private aviation - mv to eastern mass since that's the area this seems to cover
- by train/bus/car - fine but long. see if any fluff can be removed/tightened.
- by public transit - I would love to turn this into Public Transit in Eastern Massachusetts but I don't have time and I doubt anyone else will so I guess this section is fine. (It's way way too long for me tho...)
- other get around sections - mostly fine. Probably needs general clean up and should proseify any bulleted lists.
- See - pretty good
- Do - music and performing arts dated, many covid closures. Sports, getting very long, should chop a paragraph or two. Just mention big rivalries and omit player names as these go out of date too quickly.
- Learn - generally this is supposed to be for like cooking classes and such (as I understand it), but in the case of Boston (huge college town) I think this works in this instance.
- Work - Same as learn, but maybe lose a paragraph somehow? Not that important
- Buy - fine, but see brookbridgeville in/out comment from districts section
- Eat - needs updates. Many closures and I used some of this on the New England page where it works better.
- Drink - many closures, etc.
- Sleep - fine
- Stay safe - hate these sections, I'd chop it way way back
- Cope - probably a lot here is out of date. Assuming we still care about consulates. Are radio/tv stations still important to anyone? What else goes here? Internet access?
- Go next - would love to put these back in order of closest to furthest by travel time. But I get that people like to see things split out by state. Generally these are fine.
