Map
[edit]
My main question, though, is how to cover our content, in terms of merging some of these neighborhoods into one article, as I have done with Sandy Spring into Olney, and Chevy Chase into Friendship Heights. Perhaps we could cover Aspen Hill in the Wheaton article? How about Montgomery Village? Could we merge that into either Gaithersburg or Germantown (which would be better)? --(WT-en) Peter Talk 23:37, 18 March 2010 (EDT)
- I'm also a bit tempted to merge Derwood into Gaithersburg—it's tiny, and right next to Shady Grove metro. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 01:20, 19 March 2010 (EDT)
- For a long time, Montgomery Village mail was always addressed to Gaithersburg instead, and it still tucks up against that Gaithersburg commercial district right at the 270 exit. I'd merge it there before Germantown.
- On the map, you seem to be using Michigan highway markers instead of Maryland...? -- (WT-en) D. Guillaime 01:46, 19 March 2010 (EDT)
- Is it possible to label MD193 on the map? A lot of the Takoma Park/Wheaton food is there, and it's an entry point from places like College Park and Hyattsville. --(WT-en) Jonboy 10:53, 19 March 2010 (EDT)
- Well, those Michigan route signs were a goofy mistake ;) I tried putting 193 on the map, but it then became really hard to see the road itself. All the more reason to finish that "Inner Montgomery County" map, which is going to look quite pretty.
- This map clearly leaves a bunch of blank space, and that's because the areas currently unmarked are much less important to cover. But say we do want to cover them in the future—perhaps we could create bottom-level "regions" using the small city template, with no sub-destinations, into which we could put the occasional worthwhile listing? If we did this, I'd call the Silver Spring-ish area in the east "Colesville" and then break up the rest into North Montgomery County (which would include Damascus) and West Montgomery County. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 17:49, 21 March 2010 (EDT)
- Aye, where's Poolesville? Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 13:05, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Sub-article status
[edit]Hmm, lets see if we can't push this one to a star... --(WT-en) Peter Talk 00:42, 1 October 2011 (EDT)
