Missing Article Gap at Selsey

[edit]

There are now Wikivoyager articles continusously to the areas east and west of Selsey but Selsey remains a gap with red wikilinks pointing at it. I have dived in at Selsey Bill and created an outline article. I've been to Selsey between 2 and 4 times at best and know only vaguely about it; but I will try to round out the outline but I suspect others know better. Contributions welcome! Why Not to merge this article with Bracklesham Bay

    [edit]

The main consideration not to merge this article with Bracklesham Bay article is that the roads (and bus) infrastructure is quite distinct and is forced by the local terrain/hydrology. Transiting between the two zones (central manhood(Selsey) and western manhood(Bracklesham Bay) requires a somewhat circuitous route via narrow country lanes (unless going back as far as Wophams Lane) which is to be discouraged by car. Day trippers will usually go in to one or the other. While caravaners/campers will I suspect spend more time going back towards Chichester than between West and Central Manhood. This is also reflected in the local bus network.

The recent 2013 Medmerry Managed Coastal Re-alignment Scheme has I believe allow an improved cycle transit between the two areas (and seems to have promoted the Medmerry name to a much higher prominence) however I am not definitely sure all associated cycle routes have been completed and definitive up to date information seems lacking, and it is not an area I have visited.
