Thirubuvanai and Tiruvakkarai are two villages at the outskirts of Pondicherry, in Tamil Nadu. Both are home to temples of the Chola period. In addition, there's a wood fossil park in Tiruvakkarai.

[edit]- 1 Chandramouleeswar Temple (Piraisoodiya Emperuman, Vakrakali Temple). 6AM–1PM and 4:00PM–8:30PM. A Shiva temple believed to have been built during the Chola period in the 10th century. The temple has received gracious endowments from the Chola queen Sembiyan Mahadevi. Shiva is worshipped as Chandramowleeswarar and his consort Parvati as Amirthambigai.

- 3 Panchanadisvara Temple.
- 4 Thirukundangudimahadeva Temple.
- 5 Varadharajaperumal Temple (Thirubuvanai Temple, Thodatri Perumal Temple). A Vishnu temple and a storehouse of Chola architecture. It is believed to have been built by Parantaka I.
