    Get in

    By car

    [edit]

Tumbarumba is 60 km south of Tumut via Batlow Road. The road is decently well-maintained, but note that the section between Batlow and Tumbarumba can receive a decent amount of snow during the winter.

From the M31 Hume Hwy, exit onto Tumbarumba Road and drive southeast for 58 km. Road conditions are similar but snow is uncommon.

    By coach

    [edit]

Coaches from Cootamundra station leave at 2:50PM and arrive at Tumbarumba at 5:28PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, passing via Gundagai, Adelong and Tumut; on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, coaches instead leave from Wagga Wagga at 2:15PM and arriving at 5:02PM. Both coaches are timed to leave only after the Melbourne XPT arrives from Sydney.

    Do

    [edit]
    • Tumbarumba–Rosewood Rail Trail. A 21-km trail that opened in 2020 which follows the final stretch of the former Tumbarumba Branch Railway. The former railway branched at Wagga Wagga before it closed in 1974. The stretch of track converted into a rail trail passes through very scenic and beautiful countryside and makes for a great place to walk and cycle.
    • Tumbafest. Annual town festival that usually occurs in late February with some great music, wine and market stalls.
