Hi!

[edit]

Welcome to Wikivoyage, I'm so glad you finally found us!

Thank you for your great contributions to our Philippines articles.

As an old WT hand, there's no need really to tell you that we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about our policies and guidelines and our house style as well as some important information on the way your contributions will be licensed and basic stuff like how to edit a page but, there we are, I've just told you anyway just in case I get my knuckles wrapped for not greeting you properly!

However, even more important than following every guideline is to PLUNGE FORWARD and write something useful – someone might be along to help with the proper formatting later!

We're looking forward to seeing you again here on Wikivoyage! -- Alice 07:23, 26 January 2013 (UTC)

Phones#Philippines explains our standard for showing Philippines phone numbers, if you are interested. -- Alice 08:48, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

    That's good to know, thanks. :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 02:28, 10 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
My pleasure, keep up the good work! Depending on my crewing rosters, I might be ricocheting between Singapore, Cebu and Davao next month - will you be in the Visayas yourself - I'm thinking we might be able to meet? -- Alice 04:40, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
Unfortunately, I will be in Manila during that time, and Taipei at the end of March. However, if you will be in Manila, feel free to hit me up! :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 01:50, 16 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
It's most unlikely that I will be in Manila unless I have to relieve a colleague out of roster and I really try to avoid Manila because, apart from some Russian far east airports, it's probably the nastiest airport in Asia and the traffic when you leave is not exactly invigorating. Just a thought, since I assumed you might be on Bohol. All the best! -- Alice 02:52, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

    [edit]

You're done some great work in creating and developing this article, but I have a favour to ask you.

I myself wait at least 15 min after your last edit (as visible in the "History" tab before I do any editing so as not to cause edit conflicts - I'd be grateful if you would extend me the same courtesy. I know you're very anxious to kill any typos I introduce, but very often I'm right in the middle of fixing them and introducing more substantive edits when I have to give up due to edit conflicts. This shouldn't be too difficult since I assume we are in different time zones.

    Friendly greetings from sunny Glasgow. --W. Franke-mailtalk 11:46, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sure. That shouldn't be a problem. I tend to be very exacting with my edits though, which is why you might notice me making 2-3 edits in the same section. Hope that doesn't inconvenience you, as that was not my intention. :) --Sky Harbor (talk) 12:51, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
If you're the only one likely to be working on an article, that's excellent practice - especially if you have dodgy cacheing like with my ancient machine.
Thanks for being so understanding, Sir.
Just a few eat and drink opportunities to add now, Sir, and then we can promote your great article to {{Usableairport}} status!
Keep cool (I assume you're in Manila)!
PS: You might want to update your User page now you've found us from the censoring and spam ridden Wikitravel, since it's a little misleading right now.

Do you think WP has got it wrong: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Benigno_Aquino,_Jr.&oldid=563223698 ? (Genuinely neutral question) --W. Franke-mailtalk 22:55, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

No. 'Simeon' in the Benigno Aquino, Jr. article refers to the middle name, which in the Philippines is the mother's maiden name and is normally not part of the name except, let's say, in legal documents. --Sky Harbor (talk) 23:47, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

A little bird told me you had an interest in Kiwi topics. Is she right? --118.93nzp (talk) 06:36, 20 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
