[edit]In 1194 the parish church of Sant Joan was already documented. In 1210 King Peter the Catholic granted the privilege of the weekly market. In 1229 the town already had its Municipal Ordinances, some of the oldest in Catalonia, which already demonstrates the complexity of the economic and social structure of the city. The town had great vitality and became the second largest town in the Camp de Tarragona throughout the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Since November 2010 the Human towers (Castells). have been UNESCO_Intangible_Cultural_Heritage#Spain. On the ground of Plaça del Blat there is a plaque that marks the zero kilometer of the Castells universe.

- City Hall. Located in Plaça del Blat, which takes its name from the cereal trade that took place there and is known as the Km 0 of the Casteller World
- Antic Convent del Carme. The Convent del Carme was founded in 1321, it is the sixth convent founded in Catalonia of the male-only Carmelite order.
- Antic Hospital de Sant Roc. The building of the Antic Hospital de Sant Roc dates back to 1562.
- Arches of the old cellar of Paborde. Near the church of Sant Joan, we find a set of four pointed arches (12th-14th centuries) that formed part of an old medieval warehouse..
- Biblioteca Popular. The Biblioteca Popular de Valls was the first to be created by the Mancomunitat de Catalunya, in 1918, and is located at the top of the Passeig dels Caputxins.
- Call Jueu. In the middle of the historic center of Valls, in the space occupied by the Vilaclosa, near the archpriest's church of Sant Joan, is the old neighborhood where the Jews lived.
- Capella del Roser. The Chapel of the Roser, located on Carrer de la Cort, was built during the 14th century. First, it was known as the Chapel of Santa Anna.
- Carrer de la Cort. Its name originated when it became a place of passage for nobles who were heading from the castle (current Plaça del Pati) to the Church of Sant Joan.
