    Vielha is in Val d'Aran in the Pyrenees mountain range. It's near Baqueira-Beret ski resort. There are lots of mountain activities.

    Vielha is the capital of the Aran Valley (Val d'Aran) and the head of the municipality of Vielha e Mijaran. It is centrally located in the valley and rises at an altitude of 980 m (3,220 ft), at the confluence of the Garonne with its tributary the Nere river.

    • From Pallars via the Bonaigua Pass (2,072 m), the C-28 road runs the 48 km that the valley covers to the border at Pont de Rei.
    • Vielha tunnel, which, with a length of 5,173 m, links Ribagorça (southern entrance: 1,626 m) with Aran (northern tunnel entrance at 1,390 m).
    • From France, via Pont de Rei, you reach the French road N-618 which becomes the N-230.
    • From Bagneres de Luchon passing through Portilló, the French road N-125 becomes the N-141, up to Bossost.

    • The Fabrica dera Lan, a 19th-century building dedicated to showing the old wool industry.

    • The Palai d'Espòrts, new pavilion located next to the Palai de Gèu, intended for holding sporting events.
