Vizianagaram (Telugu: విజయనగరo Vijayanagaraṁ) is a city 40 km (25 mi) north-northeast of Visakhapatnam in northern Andhra Pradesh.

[edit]- 1 Vizianagaram Fort. An early 18th-century square-shaped fort, built by Maharaja Vijaya Rama Raju in 1713. It has two main gates, of which the main entrance is elaborately decorated. There are various temples and palaces within the fort, as well as a victory tower.
- 2 Ganta Stambham. The iconic octagonal clock tower of Vizianagaram. Built in 1885, the 68 ft (21 m) tower was partly inspired by the Big Ben in London.
- 3 Pedda Cheruvu. The central lake of Vizianagaram.
- 4 Ramanarayanam. Despite being newer than the Vizianagaram Raj era, Ramanarayanam is one of the most-visited attractions in and around the city, attracting millions of pilgrims. Built by the NCS Charitable Trust on a 15-acre site, the temple is based on the Ramayana and is shaped like a bow and arrow.
