[edit]- 1 Akwesasne Mohawk Reserve — in the extreme southwest of Quebec. The reserve extends across the St. Lawrence River into Ontario and New York State. The Quebec portion of Akwesasne is much easier accessed from Ontario or New York (unless you have a boat), since there are no roads linking the Akwesasne reserve to the rest of Quebec. Its main tourist attraction, the casino, is on the New York side.

[edit]Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site, in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, features Canada’s first lock canal and the remains of a fort. With a history spanning 7,000 years, the site was a portage and encampment location used by First Nations people to avoid the rapids, a military fortification, and a canal that opened the way for commercial shipping.
Zoo Parc Safari is an African safari park zoo near Hemmingford.
