Shackleton quote
[edit]
- I like it so let's keep it. Any idea who said it? - (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 17:58, 21 June 2006 (EDT)
- According to the Web site above, it was made up by someone writing a book called "The 100 Greatest Advertisements". There's a very long discussion about it on the site. --(WT-en) Evan 18:03, 21 June 2006 (EDT)
Purpose
[edit]This seems like a pretty useless policy page, and I'm always in favor of simplifying our project pages structure. Could we just merge & redirect this to Wikivoyage:Jargon? --Peter Talk 20:20, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- Could it be merged to Wikivoyage:About? I'm oddly sentimental about the quote on this page, and Evan was always a big fan of the term "Wikivoyager" (or at least its pre-WMF version). -- Ryan • (talk) • 20:51, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done, and it does look good there. Remember way back when we used the double lls for traveller, despite having then a policy mandating U.S. spellings everywhere? Here's a case, at least, where "Wikivoyage" is a better name! --Peter Talk 05:42, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
