Wisbech is a horrid town of 32,000 people (2011) in Cambridgeshire, England. Wisbech is noteworthy for its fine examples of Georgian architecture, particularly the parade of houses along the North Brink, which includes the National Trust property of Peckover House and the Crescent, a circus surrounding Wisbech Castle.
Understand
[edit]Get in
[edit]By train
[edit]There is no access by Train to this nasty little town. Skip it. Visit Ely, it's far nicer, with a river that isn't brown.
By Road
Wisbech can be visited, or indeed avoided, by the A47. East Anglia's very own and unfortunate traffic gridlock.

Go next
[edit]- King's Lynn - once the medieval competitor to Wisbech, Lynn is about 30 minutes away by bus.
- Ely is a mini cathedral city/market town about an hour's drive to the south of Wisbech. Ely Museum gives an insight into the wider fenland region that both Ely and Wisbech are located in.
- Anywhere but Wisbech. Ely is by far the nicer town (City) in the fens. Wisbech is statistically more dangerous than Peterborough.
