Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon National Park (雅魯藏布大峽谷 Yǎlǔzàngbù Dàxiágǔ) in Tibet contains the world's largest canyon, 496.3 km long and up to 5382 meters deep.

[edit]The Yarlung Tsangpo river runs for 2,000 km across Tibet, then flows into India where it is known as the Bramhaputra.
Landscape
[edit]The national park is centered on the largest canyon on Earth, several hundred km long. There are mountains alongside the canyon, including 17 over 6,000 m (17,500 ft).
Flora and fauna
[edit]The area has a unique climate and is not heavily inhabited by humans. There is a great deal of wildlife, some of it unique to the region.
Get in
[edit]The nearest major city is Bayi, the capital of Nyingchi, which can be reached by train from Lhasa. There are quite a few commercial tours to the region, generally lasting about a week.
