Yeniseysk (Russian: Енисе́йск yee-nee-SYAYSK) is a town in the Krasnoyarsk Region. It is a historic and architectural gem located on the great Yenisey River; one of the first Russian settlements in Siberia. Russia has proposed that the town be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Get in
[edit]Yeniseysk is located close to the much larger, but much less interesting, Lesosibirsk; it may be easier to take a bus to Lesosibirsk from Krasnoyarsk and then to transfer to a more local bus going to Yeniseysk.
Yeniseysk has a nearby small airport, possibly served by KrasAir from Krasnoyarsk.

With distinctive exhibits and historic photographs of the town, the arrangements in the house and its courtyard create a unique atmosphere of the distant past. Artefacts have been carefully collected and restored by the owner himself.
